Gloucester Acoustic Music Evenings
(formerly Gloucester Folk Club at Chequers)

Due to a dramatic fall in attendance numbers, the folk club will be having it's last session at Chequers on Thursday June 8th 2006.

This, however, does not signal the end of folk sessions...we will continue to meet informally once a month at my home in Tredworth. (for details please e-mail me or call 01452 384104)

This may become fortnightly at some stage, but for the time being we will stick to the 2nd Thursday of the month.

Contributions will remain voluntary, and if anyone wants to bring drink with them that is fine, although I do have an off-licence accross the road from me.

We may still use Chequers occasionally as a venue for guest singers.

The Venue

From July 13th 2006, folk sessions will be held in my private home in Tredworth. Parking is possible in many of the side streets, if you contact me before attending I can advise on the best places.

There is an off-licence just across the road for those who wish it, and tea or coffee will be available for those who don't.

I look forward to welcoming you.

Mhairi

Is this club for you?
If you enjoy folk music, whether as a performer or a listener, then you will be made very welcome. All musicians and singers are especially welcome, and a wide range of styles and genres are often heard in the club as well as the fairly impromptu "musician sessions" where several people join in with a tune or set of tunes.

Come singers and guitarists all
Come fiddlers as well
All you who toot upon a flute
Come to the place I dwell
The songs are sung
The music swells
In Tredworth Road
As I've heard tell
